Privacy policy

Viewers (anonymous). A randomly-generated device ID we store in your browser, plus the comments you post in chat and the reservations you make.

Viewers (signed-in). When you check out via Shopify we receive your name, email, shipping address, and order details — same as a normal Burda online order.

Stylists who apply. Name, handle, email, phone, bio, optional avatar URL, and links to your portfolio. We store this on Burda's database and review it for the application.

Automatic. IP address (for fraud / rate limit), user-agent, and basic page-view analytics. No third-party analytics SDKs at the time of writing.

To run the live commerce platform: show you the right shows, process reservations, deliver your orders, route your messages to a Burda team member, and pay stylists their commission.

We don't sell your data to anyone. We don't show third-party advertising on this platform.

Shopify — to take payment and ship your order.

Cloudflare Stream — to deliver the live video. Only the video payload (no PII) goes here.

Resend (email) — to send stylists their sign-in links and operational notices.

Stylists — when you message them privately or reserve their pieces, the assigned stylist sees that activity in their inbox.

Order & commerce data: as long as required by UAE accounting law (typically 5 years).

Anonymous viewer data: until you clear your browser storage or ask us to delete it.

Stylist applications: indefinitely, unless you ask us to delete them. Approved-then-suspended stylists stay on file so we can re-activate quickly.

You can ask Burda to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you. Email privacy@burdauae.com and we'll get back within 7 days.

For Shopify Customer Account data, requests come through Shopify's standard customers/data_request webhook — we honor those automatically.

We use one cookie: burda_seller_session, set after a stylist signs in via the magic link. It's HttpOnly, Secure, and expires in 7 days.

We also use localStorage (a cookie equivalent) to hold your anonymous device ID and JWT. Clearing site data clears both.

Shopify's checkout sets its own cookies as part of payment processing — those are governed by Shopify's privacy policy.
